Progression Coach

Central is currently recruiting for a Progression Coach, to work in the Brent area. The service provides support to young rough sleepers to help them achieve independence and prevent future homelessness.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Friday, 8AM - 4PM or 9AM - 5PM. Temporary cover is required for approximately 2 months, with the possibility of extension. The pay rate is £13.70 per hour, with £1.65 holiday pay, totalling £15.35 per hour.

Please note; you'll mainly be based at one service in Brent however there is a requirement to work at other services in the borough of Brent on occasion. Services are either walking distance or a ten minute bus ride from each other.

In this position, you will be expected to;
- Hold a caseload of 6 key clients and conduct regular key working sessions resulting in agreed SMART outcome based Support Plans
- Complete ongoing needs and risk assessments
- Ensure that the accommodation is properly maintained and support the client to sustain their tenancy and participate in positive and successful move on
- Work in partnership with multiple agencies including statutory teams to support clients
- Support all clients to participate in education, training, employment and volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations
- Prepare the accommodation for new clients to move into and support them to settle in
- Work within a psychologically environment to facilitate change and support clients with challenging behaviours and complex needs
- Ensure the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular checks and reporting.
- Undertake housing management duties
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times, including using safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable

To apply for this role, you must have;
- Experience of working with young people with mental health and or drug/alcohol dependency issues
- Ability to work with clients whose behaviour may be personally challenging
- Experience working in partnership with multi agency teams, including social workers, immigration and mental health professionals
- Experience of housing management and benefits
- Experience of holding a caseload, conducting support plans, risk assessments and needs assessments
- Ability to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and boundaries with clients
- Commitment to promoting an environment, which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others
