Central is currently recruiting for a Team Leader, to work in the Islington area. The service is an all-female hostel providing 60 supported bed spaces and 33 short-term accommodation bed spaces. Support and advice is provided to clients with medium to complex needs to enable them to prepare for independent living.
The successful candidate will be required to work 35 hours per week, working Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM. Please note; in the future the Team Leader may be required to work two shifts per week (either 8AM - 4PM or 12PM - 8PM). Cover is required on a temporary to permanent basis (8 weeks temporary before transferring to permanent). The salary is £41,905 per annum.
In this position, you will be expected to; - Provide line management, supervision and appraisal to 6 Supported Housing Officers ensuring they provide a high standard of support and housing management to residents - Be responsible for deployment of staffing, ensuring sufficient rota cover - Carry out performance management including setting targets, monitoring and taking action to address any performance issues - Monitor service provision on a regular basis and ensure best practice and prompt intervention as required - Ensure all customers have an up to date and Outcome Focused Support Plan - Develop and maintain positive links with local statutory and independent sector services. - Provide information and data on service provision as required. - Monitor and ensure spend is contained within the annual budget. - Maximise rental income through proactive void management, lettings and rent collection. - Ensure that staff set up and maintain customer files and ensure that appropriate records are kept of support provided to customers. - Liaise effectively with partner agencies and stakeholders to ensure referrals and assessment issues are dealt with promptly and efficiently. - Deal with resident disputes and complaints, breaches of license agreements, including rent and service charge arrears, nuisance, harassment and misuse of property in line with policy and procedure. - Provide out of hours on call support; one month twice a year between the hours of 5pm - 9am. There will be an additional remuneration for this.
To apply for this role, you must have; - Minimum of three years' experience in managing supported housing accommodation and services. - Experience line managing staff - Experience implementing and managing change and innovation. - Experience in contractual and regulatory compliance, managing budgets and identifying and assessing risk - Knowledge of legislation pertaining to housing law and property Health and Safety. - Knowledge and understanding of good practice in housing management - Working knowledge of Housing Benefit and welfare benefits. - Knowledge and understanding of how the use of IT can improve the efficiency in the Housing Management function. - Ability to analyse and evaluate data and produce clear and concise reports. - Ability to understand and work within a budgetary framework - Desirable; preferably have the Chartered Institute of Housing Level 4 or be open to achieving this qualification
